Lane County is the fourth most populous county in the state of Oregon. The county seat is located in its most populous city, Eugene, but the county encompasses land stretching from the Cascade mountains on the east to the Pacific Ocean on the west.

The mission of the Public Health Department is to promote and protect the long-term health and well-being of the individuals, families and communities in the county. They have a strong focus on prevention as a means to achieving their vision of optimal health for all, and work diligently to plan, promote and create social and environmental conditions to support community health and well-being.
